The Board may already recognise your occupational therapy qualification for general registration. This will make your pathway to registration in Australia quicker. Use the following information to see if the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia recognises your qualification.
The Board has recognised the regulators below as comparable regulators for occupational therapy.
If you completed a qualification within the listed date range, that was accredited by a comparable regulator, the Board considers your qualification to be substantially equivalent, or based on similar competencies, to an approved qualification; you are qualified for general registration as an occupational therapist. For information on how to apply, go to the Applying for registration page.
Check whether your qualification was accredited (approved) at the time of completion using the following links.
Qualifications approved by CORU and completed between 2015 and 2030
Qualifications approved by HCPC and completed between 2010 and 2030
For your qualification to be recognised, it must exactly match the qualification listed below. This includes the institution, qualification title and date of award.
If your qualification does not exactly match, it is not recognised by the Board. You will need to apply to have your qualification portfolio assessed. A qualification portfolio means all your qualifications in occupational therapy.
For information, go to the Assessment of international qualifications page.
